Interpreter Application form

The Foundation is contacted from time to time by Public Service organisations as well as the Private Sector when seeking the services of an interpreter or a translator.

The Foundation maintains its own data base of interpreters and translators, as well as maintaining a data base of interpreting and translation agencies.

If you are an interpreter or translator we would like to hear from you. Please email your CV to us and we will respond. In the UK the last ten years has seen several big changes in the interpeting industry.

It is no longer sufficient to claim to speak another language and imagine that you can get a job as an interpreter. The absence of formal qualificiations as an interpreter does not in itself mean that you will not get work as an interpreter. But you can expect some or all of the following:

> To be interviewed in both English and the Language you are
offering.

> To be totally bi-lingual.

> To have reached a good all round standard of education

> To agree to have your background checked with the Criminal records Bureau.

> To be aware of qualifications avaiable in the intepreting industry.

Send your CV to interpreters@fpsi.org
